My name is Gina Garcia, and I’m running for Oroville City Council to represent District F because I believe our community deserves practical leadership that listens, collaborates, and delivers results.
Although I wasn’t born in Oroville, this city quickly became home. When my family discovered Downtown Oroville, we saw more than a historic district—we saw opportunity. We invested in restoring a historic building, opened a local business, and committed ourselves to becoming part of this community. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside neighbors, business owners, and volunteers who care deeply about the future of our downtown.
Today, I don’t just work in District F—I live here, own a business here, and am invested in its success.
A Lifetime of Experience
For nearly 20 years, I built a career rooted in accountability, problem-solving, and public safety—experiences that prepared me to lead, collaborate, and make responsible decisions.
I began my career in the motorsports industry. What started in accounting quickly evolved into coordinating national drag racing events across the country.
For nearly a decade, I worked for Fastest Street Car Magazine and Race Pages Magazine, supporting national events sanctioned by the National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) and the National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA). I coordinated racers, vendors, car shows, and corporate sponsors, working alongside industry leaders such as Vortech, Keystone, Edelbrock, and Nitto Tire. Managing these large-scale events taught me the value of organization, teamwork, and finding practical solutions in fast-paced environments.
Seeking a new challenge, I transitioned into the nuclear energy industry, where I completed extensive OSHA safety training, nuclear regulatory coursework, and federal security clearances. As a Field Auditor and Safety Inspector, I worked at nuclear facilities, power plants, and U.S. ports of entry for nearly a decade. I inspected generators and turbines, ensuring projects met rigorous standards for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Throughout my career, I developed the skills that matter most in public service:
- Financial responsibility and sound decision-making
- Strategic planning and project management
- Collaboration across diverse teams and organizations
- Accountability through regulatory compliance
- Leadership under pressure and in complex environments
These experiences taught me how to listen, solve problems, and make thoughtful decisions—skills I will bring to serving the residents of District F.
Investing in Oroville
In 2024, my family discovered a historic building in Downtown Oroville. What began as a weekend road trip quickly became a life-changing decision. We purchased the property, carefully restored it, and were honored to receive the City of Oroville Historic Restoration Award for preserving a piece of our community’s history.
But it wasn’t just the building that captured my heart—it was the people.
Since making Oroville my home, I’ve become actively involved in the organizations and projects that help strengthen our community.

Well-maintained streets, sidewalks, and public facilities make Oroville safer, more accessible, and more attractive for residents and businesses.
